The Winchester Sports Stadium provides an ideal facility for a pre-games training camp athletics base.The Westgate Badminton Centre is a purpose built Performance and Development Centre.The Equine Centre at Sparsholt College has been included within London 2012's Pre-Olympic Games Training Camp Guide.The Stadium’s Athletics track comprises of an eight-lane track with sandwich surface and field discipline facilities.The Westgate Badminton Centre is staffed by experienced Badminton coaches - perfect for beginners and experts.The Equine Centre has three large outdoor arenas.The Sports Pavillion has 6 changing rooms and a large reception area (suitable formeetings/athlete briefings).The Westgate's facilities are modern, clean and up-to-date, with self-contained kitchen and a treatment room that is totally secure.The Equine Centre at Sparsholt College is a top-class equestrian centre.The Winchester Sports Stadium is located about a kilometre from the historic city centre of Winchester.The recently achieved Performance Centre status confirms Westgate as being one of the very few Centre's of Excellence in the Country.The Equine Centre development has been designed to provide modern training facilities

Training Camps

There are three facilities in and around the Winchester District which have been approved for use as  training camps by competitor countries. They are the Winchester Sports Stadium, Westgate Badminton Centre and Sparsholt Equine Centre.

Working together with local sports clubs we are hoping to attract some teams from countries across the globe to train here, getting used to the climate, food and customs. Find out more about training camps across the country by logging on to the 2012 website.
