Winchester 2012 Clubs

2012 will be a big year for sport in this country and with a little help from us, it is time for our local clubs to shine. We feel that we can help sports clubs make the most of the Olympic legacy and be fully prepared for the likely surge in sports participation during and after the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

2012 Clubs has been designed to help your club increase memberships, volunteers and coaches whilst developing your club throughout the programme. Ambassadors from successful clubs have been nominated to work with us on Winchester District 2012 initiatives which include:

  • Sports Awards nominations
  • Free conferences/seminars
  • Free space to promote your club at the Winchester 2012 Sports Festival
  • Winchester 2012 Club certificate presented at Sports Awards by the Mayor
  • Free training sessions
  • New volunteers for the club
  • Free coach development
  • Sportivate - Activity for young people
  • Support with Club accreditation
  • Assistance with funding for equipment/facility improvement
  • Contribute to Winchester’s 2012 legacy strategy
  • School links

If you have already been successful in your bid to become a Winchester 2012 Club then you will need to follow the next steps of the programme. Below you will find a club handbook which can be used to give you a guide to completing each stage of the Winchester 2012 Clubs programme, along with a timeline for when you need to have completed each activity by. We will regularly e-mail you with updates on the next stages and help that is available but would recommend that you use the handbook as a guide to completing tasks within your Service Level Agreement.

We look forward to working with your club on this exciting new project!
