Winter Festival to celebrate the 5th year of Treasure Gymnastics
Last weekend saw the Treasure Gymnastics club celebrate 5 years of success with their annual Winter Festival.
Treasure Gymnastics has grown from a single class to a membership of over 600 attending classes at more than 10 venues.
The Winter Festival is a chance for gymnasts from all classes from pre-school to elite squad to show their skills and to celebrate success from the year. Over 200 children participated in 27 performances watched by more than 450 spectators.
The club awards ceremony is also incorporated in to the event and saw gymnasts, coaches and volunteers recognised for their commitment and achievement over the last year.
The club celebrated re-accreditation with the British Gymnastics quality assurance mark “Gym Mark”, the opening of 4 new venues (Winchester, Fareham, Central Southampton and Romsey) and their first national medal (Sophie Pike National Tumbler).
Club Gymnast of the year Caitlin Coombs received her award for her own persistence as well as her commitment to helping younger gymnasts.
Squad gymnast of the year Saskia Servini was also rewarded for her outstanding commitment and achievement in tumbling during 2011 that has seen her move up 4 levels on the tumbling competitive pathway.
The club coach of the year was named as Emma West; Emma works with squad and recreational groups and is fantastic at getting the best out of each child.
The club would like to thank everyone who took part in and attended the day which raised a fantastic £1400 towards club funds.
Treasure Gymnastics are now looking forward to 2012 and what else they can achieve!
